An acknowledgement that the borders between our two countries are open at long last.

An exchange exhibition between PCANZ and Impress Printmakers Studio and Gallery Brisbane. This event is limited to 30 members from each country.

Exhibition Dates 26th August / 8th September  simultaneously at Impress Gallery Brisbane and Creative Arts (CAN) Napier.

Opening night at CAN is Friday 26th August 5pm - 7pm.

Borderless Exhibition Brief:

Paper size : A4

  • Plate size: Must be printed “Bleed edge”, i.e., edge to edge without any borders (borderless).

  • Numbers of prints  required for the exhibitions: 2 (tw0). 

Note: Your edition size may be larger but please send only 2 for this exhibition. The prints may be variable.

  • Theme:  Any

  • Signing work:   On the back of your work please include the following information:  Your name, the title of your work, editioning details, and your signature

  • Printmaking techniques: There are no constraints as to the type of printmaking technique used including digital as long as it fits it is within the boundaries of the following definition: 

(Digital Print/Inkjet pigment print) Image made using computer, scanners etc. Printed with archival ink or pigment with an inkjet printer. An artist’s digital print is not a reproduction but a limited-edition work of art that does not exist in any other form.

  • Hanging: Works will be hung unframed. 

  • Colophon: All exhibitors must complete the online colophon. This can be found below on this page. Information that will need to be put in the colophon will include the title of your work, a brief artist's statement about the work (25 words max) and a photograph of the work.

  • Photograph of work:  If your prints are variable you can include one print of each, i.e. 2 prints These will however appear at half size in the clearfile catalogue provided to the galleries. Please submit using the File Upload link below.

  • Pricing of artwork:  at the artist's discretion.  Please price ‘to artist’. Gallery commissions and exchange rates will be worked out for you. 

  • Commission on sales: determined by the gallery space or group

  • Delivery date of work: Delivery of artwork and artwork information to Lynne Wilburn by August 5th 2022.  Address for postage: PO Box 12098, Ahuriri 4144, Napier

  • Return of Artworks:  To facilitate the return of your works, please include a stamped (or postage paid) addressed envelope with your delivered work.   This envelope will need to fit your work and any cardboard/tissue/bubblewrap etc that you have used to protect them.

Note 1: I am happy if you want to combine this return postage with other artists. If your work is sent with others (e.g.Taupo artists frequently combine postage) then it can be returned with those same artists' works. Please ensure that the addressed envelope is sufficiently large to do this.

Note 2: Hawkes Bay Inkers will all be returned by hand (not posted). Only include a return envelope in this case if you want your work back straight away.


CHECKLIST: Have you?

  • Printed your work 'bleed edge' (borderless).

  • Completed the on-line colophon below with your details, artist's statement and submitted a photograph of your work before the due date of August 5th.

  • Written the title of your work, edition details, your name and signed your two prints in pencil on the back.

  • Included a stamped (or prepaid) addressed envelope that will fit your work (or collectively sent works) and the protective packaging as per the notes above? Hawke’s Bay Inkers excepted.

  • Sent your work to Lynne Wilburn at PO Box 12098, Ahuriri 4144, Napier by August 5th 2022.
